29 Nov 2021; MEMO: Tunisia's Ennahda movement on Friday called for holding "early" general election along with "serious" national dialogue on the electoral law and the Constitutional Court.

The movement said in a statement after a meeting of its executive office that "President of the Republic, Kais Saied, has clearly demonstrated his inability to provide solutions to the country's issues, despite gathering all the authorities in his own hands, and persisting in his speeches of division, accusation and threat."

27 Nov 2021; MEMO: Speaker of Tunisian Parliament Rached Ghannouchi has blamed President Kais Saied for the death of MP Imad Al-Khumairi's wife after she was deprived of receiving treatment on health insurance, The New Khalij reported on Friday.

As part of the exceptional measures imposed by Saied following the suspension of Parliament, he suspended the health insurance and salaries of MPs.

TUNIS, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Police in the Tunisian capital shot and wounded a man who tried to storm the Interior Ministry on Friday, local media and witnesses said.

Local Mosaique FM radio said police shot the man in the leg and brought him under control. He was taken to hospital, the radio said.

Witnesses said they saw police running after the man before shooting him.

"I am at the crime scene and I cannot give any details now," a ministry spokesman told Reuters.

22 Nov 2021; MEMO: Tunisian President Kais Saied said on Saturday that preparations are underway to end the exceptional measures he took in July which included freezing parliament and missing the government and ending the immunity granted to ministers, the presidency said in a statement.

TUNIS, Nov 21 (Reuters) - The United States will offer support to Tunisia once it has announced dates for political reform, a Tunisia presidency statement said, nearly four months after President Kais Saied seized political power.

The statement added that the U.S. Secretary of State had informed Saied in a phone call that the country would continue to support Tunisia with international institutions and other countries once reforms were announced, and asked that Tunisia ended a state of emergency quickly.

TUNIS, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Thousands of Tunisians protesting against President Kais Saied's seizure of political power four months ago tried to march on the suspended parliament on Sunday, as hundreds of police blocked off the area.

Protesters briefly clashed with police as they tried to remove barriers near the chamber and demanded that Saied restore parliament and normal democratic rule.

"We will not accept a new dictator... we will not back down," said Foued Ben Salem, a protester, raising Tunisia's red-and-white national flag.

The association said in a statement that judicial, administrative, and financial judges speak to the media as part of their duty to inform the public about their work and the content of official reports issued by the judiciary.
