USA: Biden's visit won't make breakthrough in resolving Palestinian-Israeli conflict: analysts

RAMALLAH, July 11 (Xinhua) -- The upcoming visit of U.S. President Joe Biden to Israel and the Palestinian territories won't make any "serious breakthrough" in resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Palestinian analysts said.

The Biden administration is not serious about finding political solutions to the Palestinian cause and tries to focus on improving the economic conditions of the Palestinians while maintaining Israel's grip over Palestinian security, they said.

Iran says US-Israel joint defense pact will fuel regional tensions

Saudi Arabia: Nearly 1M Muslims complete Hajj pilgrimage

Iran enriches to 20% with new centrifuges at fortified site

IMF says it held 'productive' talks on new programme for Egypt

09 July 2022; MEMO: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Friday it had held productive discussions during a staff visit to Egypt on economic policies and reforms to be supported by an extended fund facility, reports Reuters.

"In the period ahead, we are continuing our close engagement with the authorities towards reaching staff-level agreement," the IMF statement said.

The IMF announced that Egypt had made a request for a new programme in March as it came under new financial pressure from the war in Ukraine.
