Iran’s exports to neighbouring countries hit $24bn

15 Oct 2019; MEMO: The value of Iranian exports to neighbouring countries amounts to $24 billion, including $16 billion to Arab states, an official has reported.

Director General of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran’s Arab-African Office Masoud Kamali Ardakani said the main exports to Arab countries include foodstuff, minerals and petrochemicals, Fars News Agency reported.

Ireland reopens embassy in Tehran

TEHRAN, Oct 15 (NNN-IRNA) — Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani welcomed the reopening of Ireland’s embassy in Tehran, saying the move will pave the way for better relations between the two countries. 

“Reopening of the Irish Embassy in Tehran will also pave the way for further development of trade ties as well,” said Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Monday. 

He made the remarks in a meeting with his Irish counterpart in Belgrade, Serbia. 

Iran's top leader vows not to succumb to pressure by enemies

TEHRAN, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Sunday vowed that Iran will never give in to the pressures by its enemies, Tasnim news agency reported.

Khamenei slammed the United States and Israel for what he called "sucking the blood of nations, warmongering activities, causing catastrophes, and treating other nations with cruelty and suppression."

Khamenei made the remarks in Tehran during a graduation ceremony of students at Imam Hossein University belonging to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

Iranian Top Leader Calls For Political Solution To Yemeni War

TEHRAN, Oct 14 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on Sunday, called for ending the Yemeni war politically.

Iran “has long proposed a plan to end the war in Yemen, which, if implemented, can end the war in a proper way, which can have positive effects on the region,” Khamenei said, in a meeting with visiting Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan, in Tehran.

The Iranian leader was alluding to Iran’s “four-point peace plan for Yemen” which was submitted to the United Nations by Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, in Apr, 2015.

Pakistan ready to act as facilitator between Iran, Saudi Arabia: PM

TEHRAN (Iran), Oct 13 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday reiterated that Pakistan was ready to act as facilitator between the brotherly Muslims countries Iran and Saudi Arabia to sort out their differences through dialogue.

Addressing a joint press stakeout along with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the prime minister said in the past, Pakistan had hosted Saudi Arabia and Iran and again willing to facilitate the brotherly countries to iron out their differences.

“The issue is complex one but it is possible to sort out differences through dialogue,” he emphasised.

Iran Can Help Settle Ankara-Damascus Disputes: Iranian Diplomat

TEHRAN, Oct 13 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran has the capacity to help settle the issues between Turkey and Syria, Ramin Mehmanparast, an Iranian diplomat and former spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said, with reference to recent conflicts and military operation by Turkey in northern Syria.

On Wednesday, Turkey launched a military campaign in northern Syria to eliminate the Kurdish forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces and its umbrella of the People’s Protection Units, which are both deemed as terrorists by Ankara.

Iran says oil tanker struck by missiles off Saudi Arabia

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Two missiles struck an Iranian tanker traveling through the Red Sea off the coast of Saudi Arabia on Friday, Iranian officials said, the latest incident in the region amid months of heightened tensions between Tehran and the U.S.

There was no word from Saudi Arabia on the reported attack and Saudi officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Oil prices spiked by 2% on the news.

Missiles hit Iran oil tanker off Saudi coast

11 Oct 2019; MEMO: An Iranian tanker was been hit by two missiles in the Red Sea off the coast of Saudi Arabia today leading to an oil leak which is now under control, Iranian state news agency IRNA has said.

The Sabiti tanker was set ablaze and suffered heavy damage and was leaking crude about 96 kilometres from the Saudi port city of Jeddah.

“The leak of oil has stopped and the situation is under control,” IRNA said.
