BEIJING, April 9 (APP): A Chinese provider has announced a partnership with Integra Solar for panel supply chain services and signed a memorandum of understanding to provide with integrated supply chain services of 1000 MW solar modules in the year 2022.

General Manager of C&D Clean Energy, Michael K. Lee speaking online at the MOU signing ceremony said that it was an honor to partner with Integra and play a part in this low-carbon and green cooperation.

BEIJING, April 8 (Xinhua) -- China on Friday lashed out at the United States for prisoner abuse at "black sites," calling its "enhanced interrogation techniques" brutal and horrifying.

The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has set up these black sites in many countries under the pretext of its "War on Terror." Hong Kong’s ex-No. 2 official to stand for leadership polls

HONG KONG (AP) — Hong Kong’s former No. 2 official John Lee on Saturday formally declared his candidacy for the upcoming leadership election, entering the race for chief executive viewed by many as Beijing’s preferred candidate.

Lee said at an online news conference that he would stand for the election on May 8 after the Chinese government approved his resignation, which he submitted last week, as the city’s chief secretary for administration.

Pelosi's Taiwan visit plan must be canceled, not postponed: FM spokesperson

BEIJING, April 8 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Friday reiterated China's position on U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's planned visit to Taiwan, urging the plan must be canceled immediately.

Spokesperson Zhao Lijian made the remarks at a daily news briefing when answering a relevant question. According to reports, Pelosi's planned visit will be postponed to a later date due to her positive test result for COVID-19.

China: 3 Shanghai officials sacked over COVID-19 response

BEIJING (AP) — Three local officials in Shanghai have been sacked over a slack response to the COVID-19 outbreak in China’s largest city, where residents are complaining of harsh lockdown conditions leading to shortages of food and basic necessities.

An official notice Friday gave no details of the allegations against the three officials, but said their failure to fulfill their duties in epidemic prevention and control had allowed the virus to spread, leading to a “serious impact” on efforts to control the outbreak.

China demands "immediate cancellation" of Pelosi's Taiwan visit plan

Hong Kong deputy chief says he plans to run for city's top job

HONG KONG, April 6 (Reuters) - Hong Kong Chief Secretary John Lee, a security official during the global financial hub's prolonged and often violent 2019 pro-democracy protests, said on Wednesday he had resigned in a bid to run in an election in May to become the city's new leader.

Lee, 64, a former deputy commissioner of police, was promoted to the global financial hub's No. 2 role in 2021 in a move that some political analysts said signalled Beijing's priorities for Hong Kong were security rather than the economy.

No casualties reported after 5.1-magnitude quake in China's Sichuan

CHENGDU, April 6 (Xinhua) -- No casualties have been reported after a 5.1-magnitude earthquake jolted southwest China's Sichuan Province on Wednesday, according to local authorities.

As of 5:30 p.m., 645 homes have been damaged to varying degrees and a total of 1,045 residents have been relocated to safety, the publicity department of Xingwen County said.

Two sections of a provincial-level highway faced interruptions, but power supply and communications remain unaffected, the department said.
